The JE81CL Time Clock for Schools

The JE81CL Time Clock is designed to ring the class change
bells within a school. This can be separate bells or connected
to an existing Fire Alarm system. The JE81CL is a 7-9 day clock

The JE81CL is based on the latest microprocessor technology,
providing a compact, reliable and very functional clock at an
affordable price. A 2 line by 16 character L.C.D. display with
L.E.D. back-lighting provides high contrast text menus for easy programming.
The bottom line of the display in most cases helps the user by showing
which keys apply.

Reliability
All Jenkinson Electronics Time Clocks undergo a 48 hour burn-in and calibration cycle, this ensures high
accuracy with minimal faults. Simplistic design combined with modern microelectronics has made the
JE81CL very reliable, as such Jenkinson Electronics offers a 3 year return to base warranty on all JE81CL’s
sold.**

Functionality
The JE81CL time clock has 8 program banks, these banks allow the user to pre-program the clock for special
events e.g.

  • Bank 1: Can be a normal day.
  • Bank 2: Wet day
  • Bank 3: Exams, etc

The name of each bank can also be changed to reflect the times stored in it.

5 Day, 6 Day or 7 Day timetables.

Security code access can be enabled to protect the time clock from tampering students or other teachers.

There is also a Lockdown / Evacuation mode that rings the bells indefinitely until canceled by security
code
input.

A 3 volt lithium battery backs up stored times while maintaining the current time in case of a mains failure.

The JE81CL has been designed to be wall mounted with all cabling entering the unit from within the wall
cavity. Can be installed by your local Electrician or Fire alarm specialist.

PC based software for easy editing of timetables and settings. Requires windows 98 or higher operating
system with one free serial port (9 pin).

    I am trying to add in a new time on our bell system thru the programme that we have downloaded on our system. We have a JE81CL system.
    I can get into the bank 1 field with the existing times on but are having trouble adding in another time, could you help me please.

  2. Hello Val
    First of all you will need to Download from the JE81CL.
    Then click the “Add a New Time” button
    1) Select the days and ring type for the new time.
    2) tick the box for Bank 1
    3) enter the Time as a four digit number, ie 0845 for 8:45. dont forget to select AM/PM or 24Hr mode
    4) click the “OK” box to add the time
    The time should now be added to bank 1.
    Now upload to the JE81CL to complete the changes

  3. Hello Mr. Mike
    I can not connect the device JE81CL to my computer, because the cable serial port for 9 pin doesn’t available in our computer. What should I do then? My computer is HP Presario V3906TU laptop.

    You can use a USB to Serial converter cable, they are available from most computer shops.
    Dick Smith sells the XH8290 at $49.98.
